Ten compete in KCC pageant

The 42nd annual Miss Centralian pagaeant will be held at Knott County Central High School on Friday, Dec. 4, in th KCCHS auditorium.

Ten contestants representing all four grade levels will compete this year. The pageant theme is “Uptown Funk.” Talents will include  singing, dancing, drama, piano, archery and other musical talents. Tickets for general admission are $10 and may be purchased in advance beginning November 30, or at the door. Ticket holders will be admitted into the auditorium beginning at 6 p.m. on the evening of the pageant.

This year’s pageant director is Ms. Cathy Conley, an English teacher at KCC, who was recently named in Ashland Oil Kentucky Teacher of the Year for 2016. Contestant #1: Miss Elizabeth Tibbs, a junior at KCC. She is the 16-year-old daughter of Johnny and the late Sharon Tibbs of Hindman, Ky. She will be singing for her talent.

Contestant #2: Miss Acacia Hall, a senior at KCC. She is the 18-year-old daughter of Andrea Morey of Mousie, Ky., and James Hall of Litt Carr. A piano medly will be her talent for the competition.

Contestant #3: Miss Charity Slone, a senior at KCC. She is the 17-year-old daughter of Stephen Slone and Debra Slone of Garner, Ky. For her talent, she will be performing a dramatic monologue.

Contestant #4: Miss Brittany Slone, a junior at KCC. She is the daughter of Brandy and Rita Slone of Pippa Passes, Ky. Archery will be her talent.

Contestant #5: Miss Meranda Izabella Caudill, a sophomore at KCC. She is the daughter of Mechelle Clemons of Decoy, Ky. For her talent, she will be performing a selection on the piano.

Contestant #6: Miss Fallon Slone, a senior at KCC. She is the 17-year-old daughter of Shelby and Jennifer Slone of Big Branch, Ky. She will be singing for her talent.

Contestant #7: Miss Hannah Slone, the 15-year-old daughter of Missy and Joey Slone of Garner, Ky. Her talent will be a musical composition.

Contestant #8: Miss Eden Slone, a freshmen at KCC, the 14 -year-old daughter of Jerry and Holly Slone of Pippa Passes, Ky. For her talent competition, she will be performing a speech/drama selection.

Contestant #9: Miss Ashley Bergman, a senior at KCC. She is the 17-year-old daughter of Chris and Sonya Bergman of Leburn, Ky. Her talent will be a musical selection.

Contestant #10: Miss Alexis Hatmaker, a senior at KCC. She is the 17-year-old daughter of Shelia and Sonny Hatmaker of Raven, Ky. For her talent, she will be performing a dance routine.
