Hindman Preschool held the 22nd Annual St. Jude Trike-A-Thon on Friday, May 16th. We collected $1000.00. Tayton Astor Blair was our top collector with $202.00. Our participants love the T-shirts and back-packs they receive for prizes.
St. Jude has developed protocols that have helped push overall survival rates for childhood cancers from less than 20% to 80% today.
The Trike-A-Thon originated in 1992 under the direction of Mrs. Nicky Triplett. As preschool coordinator for Knott County, Miss Nicky and her students raised more than $25,000 for cancer research. Hindman Preschool continues to be the top fund raiser in the region.
St. Jude has been a passion of Miss Nicky’s since she lost two of her students to cancer. Dillon Amburgey and Cody Fugate’s memories live on as the Trike-A-Thon continues to be dedicated to them.
Miss Nicky retired last year and as she enjoys her retirement, we continue to support St. Jude and their commitment to wipe out children cancer.
Hindman Preschool Staff wants to thank all the parents and their children for their hard work.
