Joe Fields, age 70 of Vicco, passed away June 2, 2012, at home. He was born March 9, 1942, in Knott County, the son of the late Riley & Sarah Mullins Fields. He was a disabled coal miner and the husband of Lou Anna Lucus Fields.
He is survived by 2 sons: Joe Jr. (Pam) Fields of Corbin, & Woodrow (Tonya) Fields of Salyersville; 3 daughters: Lovene (Ricky) Turner of Kelly Fork, Andrea (Don) Carter of Kelly Fork, & Benita (Darrell) Combs of Lothair; grandchildren: Monica Fields, Celeste Fields, Daniel Carter, Donald Carter, Raven Turner, Ashley Turner, Timmy (Janie) Turner, Ricky Joe (Alicia) Turner, Lance Fields, Jacob Fields & Allison Lovely; great-grandchildren: Alexis Turner & Logan Turner; Brother: Vadis Fields of Kelly Fork; sisters: Neathe Shepherd, Molly Hurt, Dolly (Matt) Tuttle all of Kelly Fork, Marie Mullins of Georgia & Jewel Sizemore of Tennessee;
He was preceded in death by his parents; Brothers & Sisters: Kawanha Fields, Frank Fields, Nando Fields, Woodrow Fields, Raymond Fields, Ed Fields, Cullen Fields, Bessie Gayheart, Polly Fields & Goldie Ashley; God Grandson: Tyron Smith.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at 1 p.m. at the Nelson Frazier Funeral Home at Hindman with Jim Fields & Bob Combs officiating. Burial will follow at the Joe Fields Family Cemetery at Lotts Creek under the direction of the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home of Hindman.
So sorry of your loss, I met Joe at Goldie Ashley’s funeral. I am Nando Fields son. I never found out about his passing until the 9th of June I would have liked to have been there. Again you have my deepest sympathy. Curtis Fields
