Hello, readers! Guess everyone is wondering where our news has been. Well, I went fishing for two weeks in Florida. We had a great time and caught 230 bluegill and shell crackers. That makes for some really great eating. Hope all is well with everyone and that you enjoy the news.
Faye Slone said Betty Ann was in the hospital and had been very sick. Mary Winfree is back home from the hospital and Evelyn Davidson has been in the hospital. Dallie Slone had a fall and broke her hip. She just went through the same thing last year. We send all the above our get well wishes from the community.
Amos Handshoe said Audrey Short is doing great. It’s wonderful that she is able to go and do the things she enjoys. John Maggard and Amos sure have a beautiful garden – it’s picture perfect! That means they work a lot in it. I forgot to ask Amos about his goats he got from Tom Gayheart. They kept getting out on Tom, so he had to find them another home.
Our sympathy to Shirley Hart in the loss of Sammy, and to all our friends who lost loved ones while I was away.
Bernice and Willie enjoyed their trail ride in Virginia last week. Karen and Tim had some sick pets; hope all is well now.
Bobby Rose alway does a great job taking care of our place while we’re away. He said the Senior Games had lots of winners from Knott County.

Chip Woods said her mother Clara Webb is doing pretty good. We’re happy Phil is okay. Johnnie Childers has done a great job of taking care of Sue after her surgery. Hello to all our friends at the nursing home – Caren, Donald, Ruie, Geraldine, Freda and Clara.
Elaine and Bill are in Somerset. Josie and Winford flew to California to welcome Kendra home from Afghanistan. Keep our military and families in your prayers. They’re so blessed to return home from there.
Lots of people will be going to Pikeville and Frankfort this week in protest of the EPA’s treatment on coal mining. There will be a hearing Thursday, 5 p.m., at the Expo Center in Pikeville. Show your support!
I’ve not had time to call anyone; still trying to get caught back up.
To our readers, friends and neighbors, hope to see you soon. Be a good neighbor!
